Blood lactate responses to submaximal field exercise tests in thoroughbred horses

The associations between velocity during a standardized, submaximal 800-m exercise test and blood lactate concentration after exercise were investigated in Thoroughbred racehorses on sand and grass racetracks. Predicted lactate concentrations for each horse's exercise test velocity were calculated from the line of best fit derived from results at each racetrack. The repeatability of the differences between the measured and predicted blood lactate response to exercise was also investigated. Exercise tests were conducted at speeds ranging from 12.8 to 16.6 m/s. The variability of velocity within the exercise test was expressed as the coefficient of variation (CV) of the times for the four 200-m sections.On the sand track, the coefficient of determination for the lactate-speed relationship was highest for an exponential regression equation [lactate (mmol/L) = 0.08e(0.33x)(m/s);r(2)= 0.58, P< 0.05;n = 21]. Similar coefficients of determination were calculated for linear (r(2)= 0.56) and second order polynomial equations (r(2)= 0. 57). On the grass racetrack, the relationship was best described by a second order polynomial equation [lactate (mmol/L) = -0.87x(2)+ 28. 17x - 211.41;r(2)= 0.57, P< 0.05;n = 25]. The mean differences between the measured and predicted blood lactate concentrations in repeated tests were 1.9 +/- 1.8 (SD) and 1.8 +/- 1.7 ( SD) on the sand and grass racetracks. There were no significant associations between the velocity of the exercise and the CV on either racetrack. Differences between measured and predicted blood lactate concentrations, based on track-specific lines of best fit, have potential application in field studies of fitness in Thoroughbred horses.     

天津地区猪流感血清学调查

2002年-2005年期间,采用血凝抑制试验对天津市10个区县44个养猪场进行了猪流感病毒抗体检测,结果75%的被调查猪场抗体检测结果有阳性,检测的648份血清样品中,69.6%为阳性。流感病毒抗体亚型调查结果显示该地区流行的猪流感病毒主要为H1和H3亚型,抗体阳性率分别为55.4%和39.4%。部分猪群中存在抗H9亚型流感病毒抗体,阳性率为5.4%,但未发现H5亚型流感病毒抗体。此外,部分猪群中同时存在2种或3种亚型(H1,H3和H9)流感病毒的抗体,表明这些猪曾经同时被2种或3种不同亚型的流感病毒感染。     

畜果结合生态养殖模式的研究

本研究系统探讨了果园和畜禽养殖的种养结合型生态模式,分析研究了“猪-沼-果”、“草-鸡-果”两种生态模式下的猪、鸡生产性能,畜舍空气质量以及苹果的产量和质量。研究结果表明:生态养殖模式下生长肥育猪和鸡的增重显著高于庭院养殖(P<0.05),分别提高了17.46%和29.28%;猪舍、鸡舍空气中的CO2和NH3比庭院猪舍、鸡舍显著降低(P<0.05);苹果产量比单纯果园平均分别提高28.97%和21.15%,含糖量分别相对提高6.79%和6.36%。     

高速公路边坡生态恢复技术进展

论述了高速公路给生态环境带来的影响,总结了国内外高速公路边坡生态恢复的研究现状和常用的边坡防护技术,提出工程防护与植物防护有机结合的生态防护是高速公路边坡生态恢复的重要措施。同时指出了我国高速公路边坡的生态恢复在技术模式、植物选择、施工与养护等方面存在的问题;提出要建立适用于不同路域的生态恢复模式、选用乔灌草有机搭配的乡土植物、加强有效监督机制与后期养护和环境评估等建议。     

凉山地区生态畜牧业发展对策探讨

根据生态畜牧业的理念,结合凉山地区畜牧业生产和生态环境现状,提出凉山地区发展生态畜牧业的技术措施,推动凉山畜牧业健康持续发展。     

青海杂多县冬虫夏草的生态调查

对青海省杂多县冬虫夏草及其寄主的自然生境进行调查研究发现,该县虫草主要分布于海拔4 000～4700m的高寒草甸或高寒灌丛中。因海拔、植被、地形和水热条件的不同,虫草及其寄主具有明显的垂直地带性分布特征。在青藏高原长期的进化过程中,虫草寄主形成耐寒、耐涝、耐饥的生态习性。水、热、光是完成虫草有性世代的主要因子。     

江西地区鸭疫里氏杆菌的鉴定及药敏试验

从江西部分地区的25份临床疑似鸭疫里氏杆菌(RA)病例中分离到19株RA。生化特性测定结果表明,19个RA菌株的过氧化氢酶、尿素酶均为阳性,除1株发酵葡萄糖、1株发酵麦芽糖外均不发酵各种糖类,5个RA菌株能液化明胶,15个RA菌株氧化酶阳性,不产生H2S,不还原硝酸盐,吲哚试验、MR试验、VP试验均阴性;80%的菌株对头孢曲松、头孢哌酮、头孢唑啉、罗红霉素等高度敏感,而对阿米卡星、庆大霉素、复方新诺明、卡那霉素、青霉素等耐药。     

Landscape improvement, or ongoing degradation – reconciling apparent contradictions from the arid rangelands of Western Australia

Recent quantitative site-based monitoring and qualitative aerial and ground traverses provide contrasting assessments of the health of much of the arid shrublands of Western Australia extensively grazed by livestock (‘rangelands’). Although these results seem incompatible, we explain the apparent contradictions based on landscape succession processes operating at multiple levels of ecological organisation. Specifically, we suggest that the intact areas in which site-based monitoring is conducted are contracting as catchment canalisation and desiccation increase. However, the impacts of these processes have not yet become manifest at the site scale. The site-based system addresses important regional questions. These relate to the large, relatively intact areas away from most active surface flows, which should be a focus for resource conservation, given practical limits to repairing widespread degradation with low management inputs. We provide a complementary set of questions to provide a more comprehensive audit of rangeland dynamics in the context of underlying hierarchical landscape patterns and processes that might threaten intact areas. We recognise the need to match questions and levels of ecological organisation and the implications these have for sampling. We also recognise the difficulty in producing concise statements of change for clients when reporting on complex ecological issues and processes. Without a clearly articulated, and well understood, hierarchical model of pattern and process within which apparently contradictory findings can be reported meaningfully, policy makers may be confused by the results, with the consequent risk of policy inaction.     

野生松乳菇的驯化试验初探

经过2年松乳菇共生型食用菌的驯化探讨,通过野生松乳菇采集、组织分离培养,借鉴于其它食用菌的配方,找出适合松乳菇生长的人工培养基。设计4个原种培养基配方,以配方1最佳。设计二级、三级种培养基配方7个,以配方7最佳。在室内外人工模拟栽培观察均有菌丝体长出。初步摸索出驯化栽培松乳菇的方法。     

广东象头山自然保护区的生态安全设计初探

广东象头山自然保护区对于生态安全问题的预测和研究尚处于初步阶段。为探讨象头山自然保护区的生态安全设计问题,将生态安全设计分为三个阶段,即规划决策阶段、基础设施建设阶段和维护管理阶段,并着重从生态安全规划、基础工程建设、能源利用、“三废”处理、易受生态安全威胁的敏感区域、生态监测体系等方面对保护区的生态安全设计进行了初步探讨,并提出了相应的措施。
